What’s the difference between bungee straps and cords?

First, let’s clear the confusion. Bungee cords and bungee straps may be similar and the terms are often used interchangeably, but there is a slight distinction between them. Bungee cords offer a thinner and round construction to tie things down or to wrap around things, but they can often be referred to as straps. Their cord construction gives them other specific uses also, like hanging items on them for storage.

The most common bungee strap is the one that ends with a hook. Why are these bungee straps so common? Simply because they are so convenient and effective at attaching to a range of things, like brackets, posts, pillars and poles. 

The hook can make the elastic, bungee material stretch with high-quality tautness and keep your items stored or secured tightly with a hook grip. 

Bungee straps with balls

Bungee straps with balls or bungee ball loops are typically of a cord construction and end with a ball on a looped strap with it knotted at the end of the ball to keep it in place. These are used for tying around a range of things to keep them in place or to have them hung. They work by simply having the looped, double strap tied around an item and around the ball to lock it in place. These are ideal for use with banners, tarpaulins and skip nets, where the loop can be fed through an eyelet with the ball holding it in place, while the looped end is attached to a pole, post or bracket.  

Mini bungee straps

Basically, a mini bungee strap is perfect for little, convenient storage hacks. You can use elastic bungee toggle ties to hang everyday house items or to tie and attach sheets. When indoors, you can tie and loop them to store or hang so many loose bits or objects. For instance, you can use them to hang canning rings in the kitchen. They can be used outdoors too, like securing scaffolding sheeting and tying down tarpaulins and skip nets.
